On March 24, 2024, I faced the most harrowing moment of my life when I was diagnosed with stage three cancer —a diagnosis that would irrevocably alter the trajectory of my existence. The gravity of those words weighed heavily upon me, forcing me to confront my mortality and the limitations of the human experience. Faced with choices that would shape my future and define my resilience, I opted for surgery over chemotherapy. This decision, imbued with a sense of urgency and hope, led me to a new beginning. Today, I stand proudly as a cancer survivor, a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to combat overwhelming odds.
