This is also easily made with ground beef, though turkey is a leaner option. You can double this
recipe as well, and have enough for dinner and enough to freeze for another day!
Ingredients required:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 4 whole wheat pita pocket
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl, combine turkey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and pepper, and mix well. Form into 1-inch balls; place on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through. Remove from oven, and place meatballs into open pita pocket. Place marinara sauce in a microwaveable bowl; microwave on high 30 seconds or until warm. Spoon sauce over meatballs.
